Everest Review
Climbing the highest mountain in the world is not for the faint of heart, and many have lost their life trying. At 8,848 meters (29,029 ft), Mount Everest is still climbed by hundreds of people each year. Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay were the first to reach its majestic peak in 1953, and more than 4,000 people have repeated that feat since then. You get your chance from the comfort of your own living room in Everest from Four Leaf Gaming, or at least a shot at climbing the solid 28,600x potential all the way to the top.
At first glance we thought we were in for yet another Kane adventure in ELK’s Gold range, but you need special Climbing Wilds to expand the grid in this game. The good news is that they add up to 3 rows per wild, and Avalanche Wilds come with multipliers that increase per drop. This is enhanced when their starting multiplier keeps building per reel in the bonus round, and the number of gambling options in this game may take your breath away. Give it a go if you dare, but it’s a good idea to read up on the gambling features below before you engage.

The premium mask symbols pay between 2 and 10 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and winning symbols are removed via the Avalanche mechanic.
The gaps are filled by new and/or existing symbols dropping down from above, and the process repeats for as long as you keep winning. Climbing Wilds not only step in for pay symbols to help complete and/or improve wins, they also expand the grid by 2 or 3 rows per symbol.Similar Slots:
In addition to the climbing wilds, you can also land Avalanche Wilds. They step in for pay symbols as well, and they also boost the win by whatever multiplier they land with. The Avalanche Wild cascades down when there is a win, and its multiplier increases depending on the number of positions it drops. If no winning symbols are found below the Avalanche Wild, the whole reel moves down instead.
This increases the win multiplier by +1.The Bonus Round triggers from 3, 4, or 5 free spin scatters in view in the same avalanche sequence, and this gives you 10, 12, or 14 free spins, respectively. You also trigger the bonus round if you manage to max out the grid at 10 rows in height, which gives you 10 free spins. Each additional avalanche win after the grid has been maxed awards +1 additional free spin on top of the minimum of 10.
The difference from the base game is that Avalanche Wilds also change the Avalanche Wild multiplier for the reel they appear on. The reel multiplier never resets for as long as the bonus round lasts, and new, dropping avalanche wilds come with a starting multiplier that’s equal to the reel multiplier.
You can gamble to win extra spins up front, and this is done via the Bonus Booster gamble feature. You will then risk some of the free spins you have won to possibly win 1, 2, or 3 extra spins. You can win up to 22 free spins in total, but as mentioned, you also risk losing free spins.
The Fortune Maker game can trigger after the bonus round, but only if you’ve won enough to reach a certain threshold. You can then choose to gamble some, or all, of your winnings in a pachinko style ball drop bonus game.
There is also a Bonus Replay feature, and it allows you to gamble your bonus round winnings to possibly win a retrigger of the bonus round. When you win, a free spin is repeated, while a single losing spin takes you back to the base game.
The Super Spinner bonus wheel can trigger at random times in the base game, but only when a small coin icon is collected.
These coin icons are overlaid on symbols, and the super spinner wheel can give you cash prizes, the bonus round, the fortune maker feature, or trigger the Nitro Spins mode. The Nitro Spins feature is basically an enhanced version of the base game, where both Climbing Wilds and Avalanche Wilds land more frequently. More symbols also come with coin icons attached, which triggers the Super Spinner more frequently. Non-UK players can purchase the Nitro Spins mode by paying 50 % extra per spin.
The Game & Fortune bonus and feature buy menu is available in some jurisdictions, but not in the UK for sure. The bonus round will set you back 60x your stake, and you can pay the same for a super spinner wheel spin. Collected coins give you a discount on both features, and this is also where you can buy the nitro spins mode.
The 200 Spins Everest Slot Experience
You get a brief taste of the base game, before we purchase the bonus round at 0:22 into the 2:44-minute highlights video. We gambled a few times, and ended up collecting 8 free spins in the end.
We then purchase the Super Spinner wheel at the 2-minute mark, and you can check it all out for yourself by hitting the play button below.Review Summary
Four Leaf Gaming has clearly allowed themselves to be inspired by the ELK’s Gold series with this release, although you need special climbing wilds to expand the grid instead of cascading wins. Still, it came across as familiar, but the feel and pace of the game was not as satisfying as what you get when you travel around the world with Kane. ELK is a veteran developer compared to Four Leaf after all, and it takes time to master every detail and find your own voice.
Overall, Everest is a pretty entertaining and solid release though, and the Avalanche Wilds are an original contribution for sure. They can do even more damage in the bonus round, as they upgrade the reel multipliers, and we like the view from the top of Mount Everest. Four Leaf like to pack in as many gambling options as possible in their games, which some players enjoy while others don’t. At least it gives you plenty of opportunities, and climbing towards the solid 28,600x potential is bound to keep you entertained along the way.
