Dungeon Tower Review

The partnership with Yggdrasil has already given us several solid Gigablox installments from Peter and Sons, and now the time has come for their very first MultiMax release. Dungeon Tower is not the most imaginary game title perhaps, and the 3D visual style is also a new touch from the crafty Armaniens. The game is still recognizably Peter-and-Sonish, if that makes sense, and you get to meet some quirky goblins and other critters.

The tower in question is a forgotten one that’s located in the mount Argol dungeons, and strange creatures are guarding the treasures hoarded by a long-forgotten king. The MultiMax feature dishes out up to 3 wilds per cascade, and these increase reel multipliers. The multiplier only keeps building in the bonus round, and this can lead to payouts up to 20,000x your stake.

Dungeon Tower Slot Features

The premium symbols pay between 1.1 and 2.3 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and the Wild symbol pays the same as the top-tier Goblin should you land a pure wild win. Wilds, of course, also step in for any pay symbol to help complete wins. Winning symbols are removed via the Cascading mechanic, and you get 1 to 3 wilds in the empty positions before a new batch of symbols fills up the remaining gaps.

Dungeon Tower Slot Gameplay

This repeats as long as you keep winning.

Each wild that is placed on the grid via the cascading feature also activates the MultiMax feature. The reel multiplier above is increased by +1, and vertical wins are boosted by the relevant reel multipliers. Horizontal wins, however, are boosted by the sum of all present reel multipliers being multiplied together. The multipliers reset when the cascading sequence ends during base game play.

You need 3, 4 or 5 scatters in view to trigger the Monster Bonus Round, and this awards 7, 9 or 11 monster free spins, respectively. The bonus round plays out like the base game, but with the important difference that the reel multipliers never reset for as long as the bonus round lasts.

You can pay 20 % extra per base game spin to double your bonus round chances, and this is called the Golden Bet feature.

Non-UK players, and anyone eligible, can buy the bonus round for 80x the stake, and this gives you between 7 and 11 free spins. The bonus round has an organic hit rate of 1 in 272 spins, and the average total win is 70.24x the stake.

The 200 Spins Dungeon Tower Slot Experience

You get to see a few smaller wins in the base game, before we purchase the bonus round at 0:45 into the 2:51-minute highlights video. We got 4 triggering key scatters, and this gave us 9 free spins. You can see for yourself what kind of reel multipliers we managed to accumulate by hitting the play button below.

Review Summary

Peter and Sons have dazzled us with their visual experience all the way, and it’s impressive that they are still trying out new things in that regard. This 3D video game style installment is not what you may be used to from the creative Yggdrasil partner, but we found it to be both charming and fun. The quirkiness that is their hallmark is still going strong, but it might not be everyone’s cup of tea.

We have seen solid Gigablox installments from this developer before, and now they’ve taken a stab at the MultiMax feature as well. It meshes well with the pay system, and horizontal wins can be quite lucrative if you’ve managed to rack up some decent reel multipliers. Even more so when they don’t reset in the bonus round, of course, and your 20,000x win cap chances are 1 in 100 million (or 1 in 333K if you buy the bonus round).

Pros

  • Cascading wins award up to 3 wilds
  • Wilds increase reel multipliers by +1
  • Horizontal wins are boosted by all multipliers multiplied
  • Bonus round w/ non-resetting reel multipliers
  • Win up to 20,000x your stake

Cons

  • Beware of adjustable RTP ranges
  • Max win probability is 1 in 100 million

The wild chase feature generates wild reels, and you get an ever-growing snake wild in the indefinite free spins bonus round.

MultiFly - is the tropical jungle installment that started the whole MultiMax series, and this Yggdrasil release comes with reel multipliers that increase per wild-generating cascade. The multiplier only keeps growing in the bonus round, and this can lead to payouts up to 10,000x your stake.

Waterblox Gigablox - is a visually pleasing Peter and Sons installment that utilizes another trademarked engine from partner Yggdrasil, and it produces up to 6x6 sized symbols per spin. You can look forward to wild transformation respins, and you get this on every bonus round spin. The max win is 7,900x your stake.

Dungeon Tower has a playful, critter-in-a-castle feel about it, which is classic Peter & Sons, even if the visual style isn't quite so much. Taking a different. The Dungeon Tower slot has an RTP of per cent, which is a decent figure when compared with similar slots. It is not far above The Goonies Return slot.
